NICE PART-TIME – In the Daytime

NICE CORE CLASSES: The core NICE classes are available on a part-time basis to international individuals whose visa status does not require full-time study, or to full-time students wanting to supplement their regular study program. There are four core classes to choose from:  GRAMMAR, LISTENING, ORAL PRODUCTION, and INTEGRATED SKILLS.  See Core Classes and Levels section for information on these classes. NICE ELECTIVES: During the 10-week NICE sessions, special classes are offered to supplement the core study program of full-time NICE students. They are also open to other members of the UH and local community. Choices often include TOEFL and TOIEC test preparation, as well as classes on specific language areas not covered in depth in the core classes, such as writing, pronunciation, and vocabulary building. NICE Elective classes typically meet twice a week for 90 minutes (3 hours per week), although there are some exceptions. See listing of current and up-coming class offerings, clic. NICE INTERIM: During the break periods* between the 10-week sessions, short, intensive classes focus on a specific skill area or content area. Classes typically meet three or four hours per day over a two-week period in either the morning or afternoon.
