Honolulu is the state capital of Hawai‘i and is located on the island of O‘ahu. According to the 2000 census population, Honolulu is the 46th largest city in the United States with a population of 371, 657. It is by far the most highly populated city in the state of Hawai‘i.

Honolulu is approximately 2,500 miles away from the west coast of the continental United States and 3,850 miles from Tokyo, Japan.

You can find just about everything you want in or around Honolulu, including world-class shopping, the high-tech center of downtown Honolulu, the famous Waikiki Beach, and, of course, the University of Hawai‘i.

The average daytime temperature in the summer is about 85° Farenheit (29.4 C) and the average daytime temperature in the winter is 78° Farenheit (25.6 C). Nighttime temperatures are about 10° Farenheit lower.
